Oh my god, oh my god you guys! Looks like the Ithaca College’s Theatre has won the prize with their fall musical rendition of Legally Blonde.

One aspect of this album that I really enjoy is the fact that among the powerful beats and brilliant combinations of instruments there is always a message about race, class, religion, or confidence that rings true.

Now, a decade after their exile, Godspeed returns with a statement that more than makes up for lost time. Consisting of only four tracks, the product is fifty-two minutes of their most astonishing music to date.

Unique style is marked by the fact that it is personal. By this I mean that it is something that should belong to you and be a composite of all the political and cultural things that represent you. But by emulating the “Odd Future Style” (for lack of a better term) you’re presenting yourself as someone who is drawing influence from a certain group of individuals, who frankly, (oh puns) look like little boys.

The play tells of his journey to find meaning to his life through art, love and new friends. However, the heaviness of the show, combined with the extremely slow pacing and sometimes-forced acting did not make this performance one of the best I have seen at IC.

We expect this kind of controlling policy from secretive government and business entities, not from an institution that claims to cherish academic and press freedoms.

As current students and alumni committed to truth, transparency, and critical examination of our surroundings, this new policy flies in the face of everything we are taught to practice as journalists.

This controlled and limited dialogue and prohibition of multiple perspectives diminishes our ability to act honestly and independently, a virtue held high in Journalism Ethics, while impeding the goal of upholding the value of objectivity.
