I lay on my bed
And I watch the shadows
Of a ghost dance
On the back of my eyelids
And it mocks my behavior.
It mocks the joy I used to bathe in.
And alone the ghost hangs
Above my head
And alone I lay down here
On my bed
But all the while we stay together
Me
And my looming friend
And the space between
The sorrow
The smiles
And the end.
