I. Wondering
We meet eyes,
we realize
stomach flutters,
butterflies
look away, when you’re there,
turn your head
time to stare.
II. Meeting
We get drinks
in the same line
favorite bands,
same as mine
nervous to ask,
she’ll say no;
Wanna go see a show?
III. Melting
Friday night
another date
laughing, talking,
staying up late.
Doesn’t matter what we’ve planned,
I just want to hold your hand.
IV. Fighting
That’s my toothbrush,
don’t fucking use it
where’s my shit,
you always loose it
get the hell out of my bed,
find somewhere else to sleep instead.
V. Wandering
Driving home, stop at the light,
illuminated, no natural night
the cars and trucks travel all hours
everything is always too bright;
stumble home and feed the cat,
offer a treat, he’s getting fat
say a few words into the air
hear them bounce around the flat.
VI. Finding
Who are you now,
how did you find me?
A million buildings in a crowded city,
I’m sorry about what I said,
you’re always welcome in my bed.
VII. Binding
Grown into vines,
we wrap around
our vital signs,
rooted to ground
but sometimes, in order to grow
we must settle down and love each as so.
VIII. Dying
Goodbye, my dear,
goodbye, goodbye!
I’ll leave you healthy
whilst I die.
It could have been a journey alone,
But we found each other and to each became known.
