My photos are always for me. I enjoy sharing them, but I take them for myself. I began taking photographs after I started traveling compulsively with my DSLR camera almost two years ago. For me, the photograph serves as a memory. I find that I remember events, places, and people much better if I have a photograph to remind me. Sometimes I’ll ask a stranger for a posed photograph that encapsulates that character and moment in one solidified memory. Sometimes the memory is a completely unprepared snapshot of that moment. Other times, I take photographs of similar circumstances in multiple locations. It becomes a little game for me to find similarities in the most foreign of places. For whatever reason I snapped these photographs, a set from my travels around the United States and the world, there is certainly a memorable story to go with each one.
