I’m an adopted Korean-American, born in Seoul, raised in Albany, NY. I first fell in love with the camera when my parents gave me the old VHS camcorder that they used to shoot home movies with. I’ve been constantly filming or photographing something ever since. I started out shooting magic tricks like making my sister disappear, then moved on to parodies of the latest blockbusters with my buddies, and now here I am, proud to be a senior at IC studying Film, Photography & Visual Arts. Although (hopefully) my film-making and photography have evolved, my motivation has always been to create something that remains an immortal memory that I can hold onto, and share with other people and bring a smile to someone’s face.
The following are pictures that I have taken while traveling through Korea, China, Argentina, and on a road trip across the USA. When I travel, I always feel obligated to take the “must-take” pictures, (for example: The Statue of Liberty in NYC, The Bean in Chicago, etc.). However, the photos that I linger on the most are those perfect, had-to-be-there moments.
