A blog is a mash-up of the term “web-log”. It’s a type of website typically run by an
individual who updates regularly providing it’s viewers with text, images, audio, and
videos. While some blogs comment on news, or a particular subject. others can function
as an online journal. Here’s a few of my favorites.
I’ll start off with some for all you Tumblr fiends…
Dear Coke Talk:
http://www.dearcoketalk.com/
“Shady advice from a raging bitch who has no business answering any of these
questions.”- Her words, not mine. Dear Coke Talk is run by an anonymous advice
columnist based in L.A. who really lays it on her askers. She calls the whiny teens
and “ignorant fucks” out on their shit as they vulnerably ask questions about anything
from drugs and sexuality to life and jobs. I find her blunt opinions and comical
jargon on other’s problems very humorous to read. Although most of the time she is
a moody “raging bitch”, she does offer some insight in her answers as she slaps the
questioners across the face.
The Daily What:
http://thedailywh.at/
The Daily What offers you what you missed, what you need to see again, what’s you’ve
never even hear of, and everything in between. On this blog you get a taste of some news,
street art, funny youtubes, crazy links, videos, photographs, controversy, and anything on
the Internet worth seeing. The Daily What will keep you up on all things world-wide-web
and even just world wide, also providing you with more than a few laughs.
BOOOOOOOM!:
http://www.booooooom.com/
Create! Inspire! Art! Design! Music! Film! Photo! Junk! Projects! Yes! BOOOOOOM is
run by Jeff Hamada, a Canadian (Eh?) artist who generated the site to foster a community
of people who want to go out there and be creative! The work on this site is underground,
original and interesting. Feeling an inspiration block? The photography section is my
favorite section to browse.
Awkward Family Photos:
http://awkwardfamilyphotos.com/
An oldie but a goodie! This sight never fails to make me laugh with it’s submissions of
cumbersome people posing for their family photo opts. Hope you like strange depth of
field, awkward positioning, and funny faces because this blog is abundant of all!
